The Fall Edit
Fifteen rooms for the season

A note from
the studio
Every autumn we close the shutters a little earlier, light the lamps a little sooner, and begin again. The Fall Edit is our seasonal notebook: fifteen rooms composed for the fall, each one built around a palette, a texture or a single moment of drama.
As we gear up for the season, we have dressed these rooms the way a collector would. Some pieces are borrowed from our archives; others are custom pieces, made to order to complete a colour story or create a particular moment. Everything else is ready to leave with you today.
Where the artwork, lighting and baskets come from our archives, we have suggested their closest companions in the shop, so you can recreate the room at home. Take what moves you, and leave the rest to the season.
With love, the Bohemia Lifestyle studio

The Bedroom
The Highland Lodge
Stag-crested tartan, softened at every edge with smoky brush fringe, meets a single bolt of black and gold. It is the kind of bedroom that waits for the first cold evening: a tufted leather headboard, a pinstriped throw, and pillows stacked deep enough to disappear into with a book. Royal plaid has always carried a certain gravitas; here it simply feels like coming home. Above the bed, we would hang The Swan in noir, its inky plumage echoing the black and gold, and fill a vase with Woodfire hydrangeas in the russet tones of the moors.

The Guest Suite
Quiet Luxury
Taupe velvet, banded in ivory, leans against a frilled damask on a gilded bench at the foot of the bed. Nothing shouts. The palette moves from mushroom to cream to old gold, and the interest lives entirely in texture: the nap of the velvet, the raised scrolls of the jacquard, the soft ruffle at the edge. Barette, borrowed from our archives, completes the pairing, while Tuscany, glimpsed in the distance on the bed, carries its soft gold trellis through the room. A sheaf of sepia roses in an ivory and gold urn would finish the thought. This is restraint as a form of romance.

The Garden Room
Maximalist Reverie
An emerald tiger prowls across velvet while burnt orange and tonal noir keep it company on a faded rug. We built this corner the way a collector would: one bold gesture, then another, until the cane settee all but disappears beneath fringe and colour. Sweet Peppers, our new burnt-orange velvet, arrives shortly. To finish the room, think of a traveller’s table: almond placemats and a rattan vignette tray set beneath the Ming Blossom lidded jar and the Noir Dynasty temple jar; the Onyx vase, or the Basalt table, for something sculptural; a Japandi vase for an eclectic, well-travelled layer; a Marigold carafe for a little gilt to the moment; and a Zanzibar lamp to light it all. Pattern on pattern, layered without apology, and somehow perfectly at ease.

The Drawing Room
Monochrome
Beneath a riot of modern colour, the sofa answers in black and white. Chevron stripes, panther-black velvet and a crisp ivory pillow framed in ebony keep the eye moving, while a cowhide underfoot adds a little swagger. The artwork, the golden urn and the tangerine stool are all borrowed from our archives. To recreate the room, hang The Twin Stallions for the same painterly energy; let The Golden Hour garden stool or our Baroque gilded urn bring the gold; and in place of the tangerine, Ruby Woo, a shock of red at the sofa’s end. Graphic, confident and quietly witty: proof that a dark room can be the liveliest in the house.

The Country House
Country Weekend
Tweed, jute and a navy tartan wingback: the easy confidence of a house in the country. Hunting Tweed and Grand Canyon bring their earthy texture, while Madison Ave adds an equestrian stripe in taupe and ivory. Bring the garden in with a tall spray of faux fern and a blue-and-white Willow Mist jar beside the plate. Light the side table with a pair of Vintage Toile lamps, hang The Swan in noir above, set the So Silver garden stool at the chair’s side and keep the throws in our rattan basket. These are pillows that only grow better with time, the sort you find on a well-loved armchair with a dog asleep at its feet.

The Morning Room
Crimson & Chinoiserie
A leopard in palm-gold fringe on ruby velvet, perched on a wingback dressed in a print of its own kind. Chiquitita is a natural born statement piece and needs very little help: our Ming Blossom lidded jar in blue and white, a few fronds of faux fern, and the room is complete. It is the oldest trick in the decorator’s book, red against porcelain blue, and it never fails. One pillow, entirely unafraid.

The Principal Bedroom
Gilded Repose
A pair of Chardonnay pillows, all shimmering tiger jacquard in champagne and gold, rest before a caned headboard against a wall of deep charcoal. The effect is glamour, whispered rather than declared. Flank the bed with our Classic Gold ceramic lamps, set an apothecary jar on the nightstand, and fill the Winter Wonderland glass vase with Vanilla Sky hydrangeas or sepia roses. The room becomes the best suite in an old Parisian hotel.

The Sitting Room
Conservatory Hour
Full-blown hydrangeas, chrysanthemums and curving rosehips, framed in moss-green fringe, as though lifted from a Renaissance still life. Rapture brings the conservatory indoors at precisely the moment the garden fades, and Romance joins it on the sofa. Set them against grey linen and build a still life around them: Autumn Harvest Study on the wall; the Obsidian Imperial urn and the Noir Dynasty temple jar in shadow; an Onyx vase, an apothecary jar and our sculptural sea shell catching the light; the First Frost garden stool at the sofa’s end, and a pair of Prague lamps to read by.

The Hallway
Heraldry
Rampant lions and the Napoleon bee, worked in gold on panther-black velvet and framed in fringe. Set against a lacquered screen of peonies on a gilded cane armchair, the Coat of Arms Rampant Lions Crest speaks of honour, heritage and a little theatre. The carved lamp is borrowed from our archives; the Tiffany Lantern Lamp casts the same warm, antique glow, and The Golden Globe on a side table adds the air of a well-travelled study.

The Drawing Room, After Hours
After Dark
Black velvet, a laurel wreath in caramel gold and tiger stripes from the archives, all set on a rug the colour of embers. A basket of clipped topiary softens the edges and a still life in a gilded frame keeps watch. The artwork, lamp and basket are all archive pieces; to recreate the room, hang Scarlet, a dancer in a swirl of red and gold, and light it with a pair of Zanzibar statement lamps, black shades over sculpted gold. Finish with our rattan basket. This is Mayfair after midnight: dark, dramatic and impossible to leave early.

The Salon
Savannah Light
Zebra stripes in bronze and gold, edged in soft brown fringe, sit beside the quiet sheen of taupe satin. Against grasscloth and a carved, limed settee, the wild becomes gentle. Lara, the satin, comes from our archives. Above, hang The Audubon Flamingo and The Sandhill Crane as a pair, a naturalist’s study in pink and grey. Light the room with Schneider buffet lamps and a fluted glass hurricane, and dress the console with gilded accent trays, the Louis XIV statement urn and bowl, and our metal tissue box. Safari is the animal print for those who prefer a murmur to a roar.

The Library Corner
Noir & Gilt
Hand-quilted panther-black velvet on a gilded chair, with The Golden Hour garden stool glowing at its side like a lamp left on. Phantom is a formidable asset: it anchors paisley, brass and cut crystal without ever losing its composure. Set the Triomphe gilded statement vase on the console behind, crystal cradled in gold, and the corner reads like a jewel box. Drama, kept beautifully in check.

The Entrance
Marigold
Mustard velvet piped in ivory beside a gently dotted weave, against walls of sculpted plaster. The colours are those of late autumn light on old gilt: honey, cream and ochre. Lexington Ave brings quiet texture; Maple, made to order in a custom colourway, adds the warmth. Hang The Audubon Flamingo and The Twin Stallions above the bench, set the Alabaster Muse table at its side with a porcelain vase in bone and a French blue carafe, and light the hall with Noir Halo lamps. A bench made for lingering, without a single raised voice.

The Library
The Study
Cognac velvet with an embroidered crest beside a smoky plaid, settled into a grey armchair. It is the corner every house needs: a reading lamp, a stack of books, a glass of something amber and the long conversation that follows. Quarterback brings the tailoring; Richard, from the archives, the character. Add the Prague accent lamp for reading, the Basalt table at the elbow with The Golden Globe and the Noir Dynasty temple jar, and hang The Swan in noir beside Scarlet for a little drama on the wall.

Black Cherry
Panther-black velvet with sleek leather stripes, a timeless houndstooth and a deep cherry boudoir we made to order for this room. Victor and Plaid were designed to be paired, and here they bring gait and gravitas to a quilted ivory bed. A Corsage vase in noir, filled with Burnt Shale roses, would carry the cherry to the bedside. Tailored, warm and just a little rakish: an Italian holiday remembered in winter.

↑ Back to the roomsA beautiful room is never finished. It gathers and softens with every season, a fringe here, a crest there, until it feels entirely your own. New rooms will join the edit as the season unfolds; we hope you will return to see what we have been composing.
